Pallet Production

Markleville Lumber Company manufactures a majority of our products using the
Viking 505 machine. We have provided a storyboard of the pallet making
process using the Viking 505 so you may get a better idea about the
manufacturing of pallets.

The Viking 505 has been
electronically set up to build each
pallet. The pallets are selected
from a pre-configured list which is
available for selection by a control
panel on the machine itself.
The runners are being stacked
into the slots where they will be
fed into the machine. As they
enter, the bottom boards will be
attached one by one to the
runners.
The bottom deck boards have
been nailed to the runners. As
you will notice the pallet is only
partially complete. They are now
on there way to the next phase
of production.
Here the partial pallet is being
flipped by a "mechanical arm" so
the process can be completed.
This allows the pallet to move the
rest of the way through the
process without interruption.
The pallet is now ready for the top
deck boards to be placed. The
flipped pallet now runs through the
other end of the machine. The top
deck boards are attached one by one
to the runners.
Product Complete! The top and
bottom deck boards have been
attached to the runners and now
it's time to move one to the final
phase.
The completed product moves
down the line to the stacker.
This is where the pallets will be
stacked, banded for transport
before being loaded on the truck
for delivery.
